Andy has informed me that this car-park is currently closed for refurbishment so we’ll have to meet at the next one further south. This will add an extra 15 minutes or so of walking to the trip over some rougher ground so let me know if you’re still planning to attend.
On Tuesday evening we will visit Colliford Lake to see the petrified trees, I believe the water is already very low and beyond their base.
We will meet at 7:30 pm at the car park which is at the northern tip of the west “finger” of the lake, search Google Maps for “Colliford bbq rock“ for the correct location. It’s about a 10 minute walk from there and relatively flat.
As the weather is not looking great again for Tuesday we thought we’d stay local and meet at Seaton as there’s a few places to shelter if the rain comes in.
We’ll meet by the beach at 7:30pm and go from there.
On Tuesday there’s still the potential for a nice sunset, but it’s also high-tide right around then so I’ve decided against a coastal walk and instead thought we could try Sheepstor. I’ve not been up there myself before but I believe it’s a bit of a steep one to get to!
We’ll meet at 7:30pm, at the Burrator Quarry Car Park and head on from there.
We will be visiting Lethytep on Tuesday, meeting at 4pm. Remember that this walk will cost £8, but will include some treats to eat.
On Tuesday we will be visiting Polruan for the evening, meeting at 7:30 in the car park on St. Saviour’s Hill and walking down to the village from there. Hopefully we’ll get a nice sunset over Fowey on the opposite side of the river… high tide is 7:20pm!
Follow the link for some inspiration:
We will meet at the car park by the dam, at the southern end of the lake at 7:30pm, heading across the dam to the east side of the lake for sunset.
Fingers crossed for another nice sunset!
The first photowalk of the season, meeting at the Minions car park near to The Hurlers.
Next week we're having a change of pace and heading into Plymouth City Centre to try our hand at street photography and abstract shots.
Meet by the sundial at 7pm, see you there!
The next photowalk will be at Charlestown, meeting outside the Pier House Hotel at 7pm on Tuesday, see you there!
Seeing as yet again the weather seems unsettled for Tuesday we thought we'd keep things close again and head to the beach near Polhawn Fort (near Rame Head).
Exact meeting location will be confirmed soon!
Next weeks photowalk will be to the Mines north of Crow's Nest, meeting at 7pm... we can meet in the car park of The Crow's Nest pub and work out where to park.
See you there!
As the weather's not looking entirely promising we're going to keep it local and head to Looe on Tuesday. We will meet at the Millpool Carpark at 7pm (that's the large carpark on West Looe side)
We can decide where to go from there, and maybe head around to Hannafore Point later on.
Next week we will meet at Newquay Harbour by the slipway at 7pm!
Next week we will take in the delights of the Barbican in Plymouth, with lots of old buildings and boats to keep interested!
We will meet by Cap'n Jaspers (behind Edinburgh Woolen Mill) at 7pm on Tuesday 13th and go from there, maybe around to The Hoe and Smeaton's Tower.
See you there!
After last year's failed attempt, I've seen some recent photos posted on Facebook showing the Polly Joke Poppies all out in flower so we will head down to try to catch them before they go over!
We will meet at the Bowgie Inn at Crantock and go from there, a little earlier this week to try and catch the light... see you there at 7pm!
The next photowalk will be to Davidstow Airfield, a fantastic old military airfield with lots of old abandoned buildings.
We will meet near the North-West tip of the airfield where there is a collection of old buildings ripe for investigation; if you reach the Davidstow Museum or Dairycrest Creamery then head back towards the runways.
The first photo-walk of the summer season and we're starting off with a nice and easy location, Minions on Bodmin Moor. There's plenty of choice here, The Hurlers stone circles are right by the car-park and if you are feeling more adventurous we might head out to The Cheesewring.
We will meet at the car park next to The Hurlers at 7:30pm on Tuesday 16th. If you are heading from Liskeard and passing through St Cleer to get to Minions, this is the first car park on the left before you enter the village.
See you there!
After a few weeks break we're planning on getting the walks going again while the evenings are still light!
This weeks photo-walk will be at Freathy beach, we'll meet at sign for the Cliff Top Cafe (opposite Whitsand Bay Holiday Park) and walk down to the beach from there.
This week we're planning to return to Killmar Tor on Tuesday 12th July, as rain stopped play last time we visited and it looked like a great location we decided it was worth another trip.
If you are planning to come, there is a small area for parking just north-east of the Tor, which you can get to by following the t-junction lane shown in this Google Maps link:
The next photo-walk will be to the 13th Century Church of Saint Michael De Rupe, near Tavistock, also known as Brentor Church. There is a small car-park at the bottom of the hill and it’s a short walk up to the church.
The visit will be at 7pm on Thu 7th July, see you there!
This week's photo-walk will be at Freathy beach on Thu 30th June at 7pm. We'll meet at sign for the Cliff Top Cafe (opposite Whitsand Bay Holiday Park) and walk down to the beach from there.
Hope to see you there!
This week's photo-walk will be to Kilmar Tor, Bodmin Moor on Tuesday 14th June.
We are deciding where to meet as some closer car-parking options are being investigated. This could be meeting at the car park near Sharp Tor and walking from there or there is a potential park further north.
We will be holding the first photo-walk of the summer at Portwrinkle beach at 7pm on Monday the 9th May, we can meet by the cafe which you should pass on your way to the car park.
This is a free event that anyone can attend so if you've been thinking about joining the club feel free to pop along and meet the members!
